Smokie Norful Set to Release New Project — GRAMMY award winning vocalist Smokie Norful is set to release his
latest effort titled "Live" on April 7, 2009. The CD/DVD project was recorded live in Memphis, TN and features guest
appearances from Heather Headley and Tye Tribbett. The album's lead single "Justified" hits radio on Feb. 23, 2009.
In the meantime, Norful is readying for a special performance at the American Music Legends Inaugural Ball on Jan.
20 in Washington, DC and an appearance on BET's Celebration of Gospel on Jan. 25.
Mary Mary's The Sound moves to its eleventh week atop the Billboard's Top Gospel Albums charts. In addition, the
album sits at #6 on the Top Christian & Gospel Charts and #31 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Charts. Thirsty from
Marvin Sapp takes the #2 position for the week. The compilation album Voices: The Ultimate Gospel Collection jumps
to #3 position for the week, while Juanita Bynum's Pour Your Love On Me comes in at #4. Lecrae's Rebel rounds out
the week's top five albums.
In the world of radio, "I Trust You" from James Fortune & FIYA spends its 21st consecutive week as the top song in

The sister of award-winning artist Prince has released her first gospel CD.
Most, however, will be wondering what kind of gospel it is that Tyka Nelson looks to share in A Brand New Me.
"I'm not really any religion,” she told columnist C.J. of the Star Tribune shortly before Christmas last month.
Though Nelson says she attends a Pentecostal church, she also says she studies with Jehovah’s Witnesses, the self-
described “Christian” movement that has been denounced by major Christian denominations as either a cult or
heretical sect.
“[S]o I say I'm Apostolic Pentecostal Jehovah's Witness Seventh-Day Adventist Jew," said Nelson, whose brother,
Prince, is a devoted and outspoken follower of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Last month, Nelson’s new album was made available online at CDBaby.com, after about a month on ElectricFetus.
com. Nelson also performed in Minneapolis with her band, The Word, to celebrate the release of her new CD.
Nelson is Prince’s only full sister and made her major label debut in 1988 with Royal Blue. Her second album, Yellow
Moon Red Sky, was released on Ichiban Records in 1992.
